Forever Trailer Previews Judy Blume-Inspired Netflix Show

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for their upcoming coming-of-age drama titled “Forever,” which is set to premiere on May 8, 2025. This show is an adaptation of Judy Blume’s beloved 1975 novel with the same name.

Blume expressed delight that Mara decided to share this tale from her unique perspective. It’s heartening to learn that, half a century since its debut, the central love story in Forever continues to strike a chord with viewers.

What happens in the Forever trailer?

The video presents teenagers Keisha and Justin, who fall in love for the first time. It focuses on the hurdles they’ll encounter as they strive to maintain their relationship. The series will be headlined by Lovie Simone (from Selah and the Spades) and Michael Cooper Jr. (from On the Come Up), with Regina King, an Academy Award winner, serving in the role of executive producer.

Based in Los Angeles during the year 2018, this series tells a grand tale of love between two African-American teenagers as they navigate the complexities and challenges of their first romantic experiences while also discovering more about themselves and their identities.

The series “Forever” was developed and overseen by showrunner Mara Brock Ali. The ensemble cast features Karen Pittman, Wood Harris, Xosha Roquemore, Marvin Winans III, Niles Fitch, Barry Shabaka Henley, Ali Gallo, Adriyan Rae, Paigion Walker, Xavier Mills, E’myri Crutchfield, and Yusef Thomas. In addition to Brock Ali, the executive producers are Blume, Susie Fitzgerald, Erika Harrison, Sara White, Reina King, Shana C. Waterman, and Anthony Hemingway.
