Nate Purkeypile’s next game is Deedlee Doo! Carkour! and it’s coming in May 2025

Previously known for designing environments in games like Skyrim and creating Diamond City in Fallout 4, Nate Purkeypile has been a busy man since then. He debuted The Axis Unseen in 2024, and now he’s unveiling another project: Deedlee Doo! Carkour! This upcoming game might sound a bit strange, but it’s in a delightfully absurd way. Unlike the darker tones of The Axis Unseen, DD!C! sees you racing clay vehicles through a clay world, using explosions to catapult yourself over tricky obstacles while being accompanied by a medley of a cappella music and taunting children. Deedlee Doo! Carkour! is set for release in mid-May 2025.

In a recent reveal, Purkeypile unveiled the specifics of Deedlee Doo! Carkour!, set to hit PC on May 12, 2025. Unlike its predecessor Where The Axis Unseen, which was a serious hunting sim immersed in a heavy metal-inspired setting, DD!C! presents a much more playful atmosphere. Players will assume the role of a clay vehicle, utilizing explosions to soar over immense gaps and bounce off walls as they strive to ascend a mountain. The game’s soundtrack is unique, featuring a cappella music without any instruments, instead opting for vocal sounds exclusively. If you should happen to fall, the background will fill with the laughter of children mocking your misfortune.

It appears that Nate Purkeypile’s recent game is a collaborative project involving his family, as he shared that his kids contributed to various aspects of it. Many of the game’s assets were made from real-world clay and then incorporated into the game, with Nate’s children assisting him in the sculpting process. While it’s amusing to speculate that they might be the ones mocking players when they fail, they are also likely cheering on the player as they achieve success.

Last year, we found ourselves thoroughly captivated by The Axis Unseen. Now, Deedlee Doo! Carkour! seems to offer a distinctly new taste compared to Purkeypile. Keep an eye on the Just Purkey Games discussion for further information and updates.
