Ari Aster’s Eddington Poster & Photo Tease Pedro Pascal & Joaquin Phoenix

The first poster and photo from Ari Aster’s Eddington has been released.

In the year 2018, Aster embarked on his first directorial journey for a feature film titled Hereditary, which was distributed by A24. Subsequently, he delivered Midsommar in 2019 and Beau Is Afraid in 2023, with both productions also being handled by A24 for release.

Currently, Aster is engrossed in creating a fresh film titled Eddington. This film is set to debut for the very first time on the global stage at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival later this year. The stellar cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and many other talented individuals.

What do we know about Ari Aster’s Eddington?

According to reports, the film seems to center on a sheriff from a quaint New Mexico town who harbors grand aspirations.

The movie seems to be set during the year of the COVID-19 pandemic (which began around March 2020), as suggested by its poster tagline “Hindsight is 2020.” At the moment, more specific story details are kept confidential.

Apart from Phoenix, Pascal, Stone, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., and Luke Grimes make up the cast of Eddington. Filming for the movie began in March 2024. Aster wrote the script, directed, and also produced alongside Lars Knudsen for Square Peg.

In April 2023, Phoenix and Aster collaborated in the film titled Beau Is Afraid. In this movie, Phoenix portrayed the main character, Beau Wassermann. The film garnered mixed opinions from critics and earned a modest $12.3 million worldwide. Despite this, Phoenix received a nod for a Golden Globe Award for his acting performance. Notable actors like Patti LuPone, Amy Ryan, Nathan Lane, Parker Posey, Richard King, among others, also appeared in the film.

As of now, we don’t know when the movie Eddington will be nationally released. The 2025 Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 13 to May 24.
