Dhanush and director Mari Selvaraj previously teamed up for the movie “Karnan.” Exactly four years after its premiere, they’ve revealed plans for their second joint project, currently known as “D56.

As further information on D56 unfolds, I am excited to confirm my role in its financing as a dedicated follower, with Ishari K. Ganesh and Vels Film International spearheading the financial aspect of this upcoming project.

In 2021, I was thrilled to be part of the successful collaboration between an actor and director on a film titled Karnan. This captivating story follows a man named Karnan who belongs to a lower-caste community in a village, where they endure recurring conflicts with their neighboring settlement. Throughout the narrative, we witness the struggles of these people as they fight tirelessly for their fundamental rights.

The remainder of the movie delves into Karnan’s struggle with this predicament and his courageous stance for the mistreated masses. Notably, it is penned and orchestrated by Mari Selvaraj, a filmmaker who stirred debate due to speculations about being impacted by the 1995 Kodiyankulam caste disturbances.

In addition to Dhanush, the movie boasts a talented group of performers such as Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Yogi Babu, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, among others, who play significant parts.

Moving on to Dhanush’s professional commitments, he is soon taking up the lead role for the film titled Kuberaa. This social thriller is scheduled to hit theaters on June 20, 2025. Additionally, his upcoming projects include Idly Kadai and Tere Ishk Mein.
