Vince Vaughn & Susan Sarandon Open an Italian Restaurant in Nonnas Trailer

Netflix has unveiled the authentic trailer for the forthcoming heartfelt comedy, titled “Nonna’s,” featuring Vince Vaughn (“Bad Monkey”) in the role of Joe and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (“Thelma & Louise”) as Gia. The film will debut on streaming platforms from May 9, 2025.

In the movie, following his mother’s passing, a man ventures to open an Italian eatery, entrusting it to a band of elderly women from the neighborhood who take on the role of head chefs.

What happens in the Nonnas trailer?

The video showcases Vaughn’s character, Joe Scaravella, who seeks the assistance of four grandmothers to establish an Italian eatery in memory of his deceased mother. It emphasizes the strong connection they will forge while cooking and managing the restaurant collectively. Alongside Lorraine Bracco as Roberta, Talia Shire as Teresa, Brenda Vaccaro as Antonella, Joe Manganiello as Bruno, Drea de Matteo as Stella, Linda Cardellini as Olivia, Campbell Scott, and Michael Rispoli, this ensemble also features in the cast.

Based on the life experiences of Jody Scaravella, the movie Nonnas is crafted by Stephen Chbosky, known for “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, both as writer and director, from a screenplay penned by Liz Maccie. The production is overseen by executives such as Vaughn, Scott Budnick, Ameet Shukla, Jay Peterson, Todd Lubin, Leah Gonzalez, Stacy Calabrese, Amanda Morgan Palmer, Alexis Garcia, Jody Scaravella, Pamela Hirsch, Christopher Slager, and Dan Guando. Gigi Pritzker, Rachel Shane, and Jack Turner serve as the film’s producers.

Maccie expressed in a recent interview with EW, “Family isn’t solely about the relatives you were born to; it can be found everywhere. Your neighbor, the person you pass on the street could very well be family. It’s about being there for one another, and I hope this film encourages people to do just that, particularly in these times.
