ComingSoon will be premiering the release date for “The Moogai,” sharing the exact date this highly praised horror-thriller will hit the big screen.

When is The Moogai release date?

The Moogai will make its U.S. debut in theaters on May 9, 2025, courtesy of Samuel Goldwyn Films. Earlier this year, it was first showcased at the Sundance Film Festival. This movie chronicles the tale of a young Aboriginal couple who start to believe that a spirit is trying to claim their newborn baby.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that this movie hails from the creative minds behind Causeway Films, the brilliant team who brought us the chilling horror sensations, The Babadook and Talk to Me.

The film “Moogai” was created by Jon Bell and features performances from Shari Sebbens, Meyne Wyatt, Tessa Rose, Clarence Ryan, Toby Leonard Moore, and Bella Heathcote.

Sarah and Fergus, a promising young Aboriginal couple, welcome their second child. However, what should have been a happy period for them turns ominous as Sarah believes she sees an evil spirit trying to steal her baby. Unable to see it himself but desperate to support her, Fergus grows increasingly concerned as Sarah’s mental state deteriorates. The question arises: Is the spirit truly after their child or is Sarah herself becoming a danger to their family?
