Andor Season 2 Schedule Follows Season 1 Release Pattern for Star Wars Show

Lucasfilm announced the unusual release plan for Andor Season 2 during its recent promotional event prior to the show’s return on Disney+. The final season will debut with a triple-episode premiere on April 22, 2025, and then continue with weekly releases in sets of three episodes. This structured format represents a fresh strategy for the Star Wars franchise on streaming platforms.

Star Wars’ Andor Season 2’s release date schedule confirmed

Starting from April 22, 2025, Andor Season 2 will debut on Disney+, unveiling the first three episodes simultaneously. The full season consists of twelve episodes, with the remaining nine being rolled out weekly in sets of three: Episodes 4-6 on April 29, Episodes 7-9 on May 6, and the finale, Episodes 10-12, on May 13.

Two weeks before its debut, Disney Plus shared a fresh promotional ad showcasing new clips. The trailer presents swift glimpses of main characters such as Cassian Andor, Mon Mothma, Vel Sartha, Luthen Rael, and K-2SO. Scenes from the Rebellion’s point of view are highlighted throughout. In the ad, a voice can be heard saying, “The revolution is about to unfold,” underscoring the series’ emphasis on bringing together the Rebel alliance.

The TV show, acting as a precursor to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, narrates Cassian Andor’s journey from an ordinary individual into a crucial player within the Rebellion. In its first season, we witnessed scattered groups defying the Empire, while Season 2 is set to illustrate these factions uniting. The latest trailer reveals Saw Gererra commanding a group, suggesting his ongoing involvement in the resistance movement.

In a conversation with Empire, showrunner Tony Gilroy discussed the grandeur of the upcoming season, pondering questions such as “How can we expand? How can we collaborate? And how do all the fragmented factions of the Rebellion unite within Yavin’s base?

Initially, Gilroy penned the initial trio of episodes. After that, Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, and Tom Bissell took over writing duties for subsequent sets. Ariel Kleiman directs the opening six episodes, followed by Janus Metz who takes charge of the next three. The final group of episodes from 10-12 is supervised by Alonso Ruizpalacios.
