Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who portrays Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Val) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), recently shared her thoughts about not being mentioned in the cast list for Avengers: Doomsday. Louis-Dreyfus first appeared as Valentina in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which premiered in 2021, and has since made appearances in various other MCU productions. Currently, she is actively promoting Thunderbolts alongside her fellow cast members Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Olga Kurylenko.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus reacts to Avengers: Doomsday excluding Thunderbolts*’s Val
In a chat with Fandango, the Thunderbolts ensemble recently discussed various topics, and during this conversation, the interviewer brought up the point of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s absence from the Avengers: Doomsday cast list.
In the Fandango interview, it was noted that all the primary Thunderbolts actors, with the exceptions of the journalist herself and Olga Kurylenko, had their seats labeled during the Doomsday live stream. Initially perplexed, the actress inquired, “Hold on, what are you referring to?” The interviewer subsequently clarified by asking why Louis-Dreyfus did not have a chair assigned.
To this response, Louis-Dreyfus exclaimed, “Wow, I’m not sure, but someone is definitely being let go.” She playfully suggested that her staff would be undergoing changes due to their absence in the Doomsday cast, saying, “I’m replacing everyone who works for me now. They’re all gone.
In the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, it’s anticipated that Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ character Val will assume a significant position. Most recently, she appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the subsequent installment, her character was unveiled as the head of the CIA, thereby elevating her to one of the most powerful figures within the Marvel Cinematic Universe at present.
Besides Julia Louis-Dreyfus (from Veep), several notable Marvel Cinematic Universe actors such as Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Wong, Ryan Reynolds, Brie Larson, Oscar Isaac, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Evans, and others were not mentioned in the latest cast list for Avengers: Doomsday.
