Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Will Poulter Talks Punching Dave Bautista’s Face

In a light-hearted revelation about the set of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3“, Will Poulter admitted he accidentally struck co-star Dave Bautista in the face during filming. Making his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in this James Gunn production, Poulter took on the role of Adam Warlock. The 2023 release received praise from both critics and audiences, with its blend of emotional depth and grandeur being a key factor in its success. However, if The Maze Runner actor’s anecdotes are any indication, the filming process was just as action-packed as the finished product.

Will Poulter accidentally smahsed Dave Bautista’s face during Guardians 3 filming

In a recent interview with The Jonathan Ross Show, Will Poulter revealed an incident where he inadvertently caused injury to Dave Bautista while filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

He shared, “During our action sequence, I unintentionally hit Dave square in the face. All of a sudden, he was hoisted away on a wire, leaving me behind. I exclaimed, ‘I believe I’ve just struck him in the face.’ I was panicking, and he was over in the corner getting his makeup retouched, when I said to the person applying my makeup, ‘I think I might have hit Dave in the face.’

In the heat of our fight scene in Guardians 3, I threw a punch at Dave Bautista. But even though I saw a golden fist right near his eye, he quickly reassured me, saying “No, you’re good buddy, it’s all good.” I couldn’t help but wonder if I’d actually connected with him, but instead of telling me directly, he just let the bruise on his eye speak for itself.

So far, Will Poulter, who played Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, hasn’t been confirmed for a repeat performance. In an interview, he expressed his desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if given the chance. However, as of now, there’s no official news from Marvel Studios about his potential role in either Avengers: Endgame or Secret Wars.
