As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Moncler, the esteemed French skiwear label, has unveiled its long-awaited collaboration with Nigo and Mercedes-Benz, following their spectacular showcase at the Moncler Genius 2024 event in Shanghai. This partnership has culminated in a stunning collection, which includes a co-branded clothing line and a limited-edition G-Class vehicle named “Past II Future.” This unique collaboration beautifully fuses the rich histories of both partners, creating a vibrant fusion of cultural influences that truly reflects the essence of this collaboration.
Drawing inspiration from Nigo’s love for the timeless Americana style, the clothing line offers an array of traditional shapes such as varsity jackets, bomber jackets, flannel overshirts, and a denim ensemble. The creative mind behind this Japanese design chooses to emphasize vintage elements like a nostalgic green G-Class image from the Mercedes-Benz archives and a casual lowercase Moncler emblem handwritten in script.
This navy, Ivy League-style cotton cardigan is unique, with a synthetic lining on the back panel and an eye-catching large embroidered appliqué. The reverse side of shirt jackets, satin shirts, and knitted sweaters showcase vintage Mercedes-Benz photos, now bearing the new Moncler logo. For more understated looks, there are solid fabric pieces with subtle branding, like a jacket and jeans set inspired by workwear, as well as a down-filled field jacket.
