Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth Netflix Movie Gets New Details, Timeline Revealed

Fresh information has been disclosed about the upcoming film featuring Cliff Booth, which David Fincher is directing alongside Brad Pitt.

A week ago, it became known that Fincher has been developing a film titled Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for Netflix, which was initially released in 2019. In the original version, Quentin Tarantino directed the movie, with Brad Pitt portraying stuntman Cliff Booth and Leonardo DiCaprio playing actor Rick Dalton.

In Fincher’s movie, Brad Pitt is set to replay his character from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It remains undecided if Leonardo DiCaprio will appear again.

What is the new update about David Fincher’s Cliff Booth movie?

During his appearance on The Big Picture podcast, close friend of Tarantino’s, Sean Fennessey, indicated that it appears as though this film project is indeed moving forward.

David Fincher has quite a few unproduced films on his list, including those yet to hit theaters or stream on Netflix… I’m not sure if one of these projects is set for production in July. It appears that could be the case.

He added, “It’s more accurate to view this as a continuation rather than a sequel. Imagine The Big Sleep, starring Humphrey Bogart, and Farewell, My Lovely, with Robert Mitchum, both being part of the same universe, yet distinct in terms of actors, directors, and timeline within the storyline. That’s what I mean.

According to my understanding, this new story seems to follow more escapades of the character Cliff Booth. What I can also confirm is that the movie is set in 1977, which is around eight years after the events depicted in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, indicating a different phase in Cliff’s life.

A release date for Fincher and Pitt’s Cliff Booth movie has not yet been announced.”
