The entire movie unfolds within New York City’s streets, depicting Iris as she navigates her professional and personal world amidst unexpected hardships triggered by her friend’s demise. As she grapples with grief and rage, there are several flashback sequences featuring Bill Murray towards the film’s end, illuminating the profound bond between Iris and Walter – their friendship.
In contrast to smaller dog breeds, Great Danes are often larger dogs who live shorter lives. Common health problems that can impact their lifespan include bone cancer, heart disease, hip dysplasia, and a condition known as gastric torsion.
In my opinion, the conclusion was skillfully crafted, portraying Iris’s predicament as she desperately sought a way to keep her cherished pet dog, despite the landlord demanding its removal.
The Rotten Tomatoes score for “The Friend” stands at a commendable 86%, while my personal assessment leans towards 80%. However, the film’s overall runtime feels somewhat prolonged, given its relatively straightforward narrative.
