Yet, it seems that the company behind Windows might be temporarily stepping away to reevaluate its AI-related initiatives. Initially, there were intentions to construct new data centers globally to support AI, but these plans are currently on hold or postponed.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Microsoft is temporarily halting construction of new data centers in various locations, including Illinois, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Indonesia, Australia, and the UK. Microsoft hasn’t explicitly admitted to a reduction in data center production pace. However, it continues to demonstrate strong commitment towards AI technology, as evidenced by its plans to integrate generative AI into its gaming sector, and the recent interview of CEO Satya Nadella, former CEO Steve Ballmer, and founder Bill Gates by Copilot within this field.
