The popular games “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Tears of the Kingdom” are getting upgraded versions for the Switch 2. These enhancements will improve their graphics and speed, and they’ll introduce a new feature called “Zelda Notes.” This tool lets players keep track of their progress in the open-world Zelda games. Nintendo has also shared that the Zelda Notes feature will have an exclusive function to transfer items between “Breath of the Wild” and “Tears of the Kingdom.”
Today at Nintendo Treehouse: Live, we showcased the item sharing feature in Zelda Notes. In upcoming versions 2 of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch, new Key Items will be available for players to store and retrieve items on Zelda Notes. Within the Zelda Notes section of the Nintendo Switch App, users can transfer items between their inventories, and even share them with friends.
In a summary, Nintendo explained that unique items exclusive to Tears of the Kingdom will transform into different items upon transfer to Breath of the Wild. Additionally, the Zelda Notes feature enables players to review their game stats and share Autobuild blueprint designs using QR codes.
On June 5, 2025, when the Nintendo Switch 2 officially releases, editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for the new console will be made available.
