Animated Predator Movie Gets Title, First Plot Details

20th Century Studios’ forthcoming animated Predator film has officially announced its title. This disclosure precedes the Walt Disney Studios’ presentation at the 2025 CinemaCon event, where the movie will reportedly be unveiled.

What is the title of the animated Predator movie?

As per entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider’s report, the upcoming animated Predator film is rumored to be called “Predator: Slayer of Slayers“. In addition to its title, he also disclosed a fresh plot detail, hinting that the movie could depict “The Predator battling their way through three distinct categories of fighters.

Before Sneider’s exclusive reveal, a prior report from io9 suggested that the forthcoming animation would be reminiscent of an anthology, much like the Predator series. This might involve Predators engaging in battles against pirates during one era, while encounters with samurai could occur in another.

The upcoming animated film will be led by Dan Trachtenberg, known for “10 Cloverfield Lane” and the live-action Predator movie, “Predator: Badlands,” with Elle Fanning set to star. These projects continue Trachtenberg’s involvement with the long-standing action sci-fi franchise, following his direction of the prequel “Prey” in 2022. At present, neither a release date nor the complete cast has been announced for this project.

In a past conversation, Steve Asbell from 20th Century Studios mentioned that after Prey was successful, director Dan Trachtenberg expressed reluctance to make Prey 2. Instead, he proposed several unconventional yet intriguing ideas. We’ve managed to bring two of those concepts to life, with one set for release next year. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal details about the first one, but the other is the live-action Predator movie starring Elle Fanning, which was recently completed in New Zealand. It should hit theaters sometime next year.
