Ellen Pompeo, star of Grey’s Anatomy, revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show (April 2) that she had no prior acquaintance with Taylor Swift before being asked to join her “Bad Blood” music video in 2015. Surprisingly, Swift extended the invitation to Pompeo despite never having met, and she accepted, finding it an intriguing opportunity, as she put it, “And Taylor is such a great person, I didn’t know her before, but she invited me to be in the video and I thought, ‘That sounds like fun!’
Pompeo found herself in agreement and expressing surprise at how straightforward and swift the recording process turned out to be. She explained, “I went ahead and did the video…it was surprisingly effortless, taking just about an hour or two.” Later on, she discovered that her part in the video had garnered her significant “brownie points” with her daughters.
After their temporary partnership, Pompeo recounted discovering a more compassionate aspect of Swift later on. Together with her spouse, Chris Ivery, they’ve been dedicated volunteers at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for some time. They advocate for a specific initiative that assists families of babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). When this program encountered a funding shortage, Pompeo felt compelled to appeal to Swift for assistance.
Despite having limited time together, Swift was quick to lend a hand, promptly donating a substantial sum. Pompeo shared, “I hadn’t even finished setting up when I asked Taylor, ‘Could you write me a large check for Children’s Hospital?’ And after knowing me barely 20 minutes, she wrote me the biggest check without batting an eye.
