After delivering a monumental show at Miami’s ULTRA Music Festival, where Skrillex made a long-awaited return to the Main Stage after a decade, the artist unexpectedly released his album 14 hours ahead of its scheduled launch by sending a Dropbox file to everyone on his email list. Consequently, the Dropbox discussion forum transformed into an unplanned listening party, with fans commenting on the tracks in real-time as they played. This was confirmed by the artist’s record label.
The album, which includes 34 tracks featuring artists like Jónsi from Sigur Rós, Dylan Brady of 100 gecs, Boys Noize, Varg2TM, Wuki, and more, has Skrillex stating that he doesn’t consider himself Andy Warhol despite his fame in electronic music. This album serves as the final project of Skrillex with OWSLA/Atlantic Records, marking an end to a 15-year partnership between the artist and the label.

The record is a continuation of Skrillex’s “Quest for Fire” and “Don’t Get Too Close,” which were surprisingly dropped in 2023. In the same year, the artist took the stage at Coachella alongside Four Tet and Fred Again.., stepping in for Frank Ocean during the festival’s second weekend.
