During the filming of Reacher’s Season 3 finale, Alan Ritchson admitted he lost consciousness during the intense fight scene with Olivier Richters’ character. This occurrence happened while they were shooting one of the initial scenes in the sequence. Despite concerns from his crew, Ritchson was determined to perform his own stunts and had a camera focused directly on his face for that particular shot. After the incident, Ritchson remained unconscious for approximately a day and a half.

In the Season 3 finale of the Prime Video series, Ritchson admitted he briefly passed out during the climactic battle between Reacher and Paulie, acted by Olivier Richters. This titanic struggle between Reacher and his formidable adversary Paulie reached its peak. Their fight was a tense back-and-forth, with both characters getting increasingly angry because neither would yield. In the end, Reacher cleverly manipulated Paulie into shooting himself fatally by blocking the gun he aimed at Reacher with his own weapon.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ritchson shared that during filming a specific scene, he deliberately had the camera focus on his face to convey to viewers that “I’m performing these actions for us. I’m sacrificing for Reacher, and we’re all united in this endeavor.
Instead of Ritchson’s team, they disagreed with him filming the scene personally and suggested a stunt person instead. They also proposed placing the camera on the ground level. The actor stated there was a significant dispute about it, but he managed to convince them in the end. He remembered his team expressing their concerns, saying something like “You had better not get hurt because we said you were going to be injured, and we tried to warn you.
According to Ritchson, he experienced something akin to Dante’s seventh circle of hell after Richters subjected him to a harrowing ordeal involving a table. Once he came to, Ritchson reassured his children that he was unscathed and admitted, “Those were the most agonizing minutes I have ever lived through.
