Sony Pictures has at last disclosed the poster for the next installment of the legendary teen slasher series, “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. Moreover, the official summary has been unveiled as well, hinting at the comeback of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt in their roles as Ray Bronson and Julie James from previous entries.
Five individuals unintentionally trigger a fatal car crash and decide to hide their part in it instead of facing the repercussions. A year later, their hidden secret resurfaces, forcing them to acknowledge a chilling reality: someone is aware of their past actions and seeks retribution. As one by one they’re targeted by a vengeful killer, they uncover that similar events occurred before in Southport, and they seek guidance from the sole survivors of the 1997 massacre.
What does the I Know What You Did Last Summer poster show?
The official poster for I Know What You Did Last Summer shows a hook stained with blood, suggesting that an old enemy could make another appearance. As of now, it remains uncertain if the primary antagonist of the reboot will be the same as the infamous Fisherman from earlier films. The reboot is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2025.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote the screenplay along with Leah McKendrick, is the director for the upcoming remake of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’ The new cast includes Jonah Hauer-King, Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Lola Tung, Austin Nichols, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Gabbriette Bechtel (also a musician and model), and others. The project is executive produced by Robinson, Jackie Shenoo, and Karina Rahardja, with Neal Moritz serving as the producer.
