As an ardent fan, I’m excitedly following the developments in HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” series. Jason Isaacs, who played the iconic Lucius Malfoy in the original films, has hinted at his preferred successor – none other than Meryl Streep!
Intriguing discussions are underway to include Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, alongside John Lithgow who’s set to portray Albus Dumbledore. We can expect more official cast announcements in the near future.

Recently, Jason Isaacs has voiced his wish for Meryl Streep to take on the role of Lucius Malfoy, Draco’s father, in the upcoming Harry Potter series.
When asked by Variety who he thought would be suitable to play the character Lucius Malfoy, Isaacs immediately responded, “I believe Meryl Streep could pull it off beautifully. She’s incredibly versatile; there seems to be no role she can’t handle.
As a gamer putting myself in Jason Isaacs’ shoes, I wouldn’t feel compelled to offer any tips to the actor stepping into the Malfoy patriarch role in the Harry Potter series. The actors they’re considering are already incredibly talented individuals, so why burden them with my advice? It’s going to be an amazing production, and they don’t need guidance from a seasoned veteran like me, who might as well be considered an old-timer!
Although there’s a lot of anticipation for the Harry Potter reboot on HBO, they haven’t announced an exact release date yet. However, rumors hint at a possible premiere around 2027.
