Jason Momoa is asking people on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow set to refer to him as Lobo.
In a future development, Jason Momoa has been chosen to portray Lobo within the DC Universe. This character’s initial appearance will be in the 2026 film “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” which is being directed by Craig Gillespie. In this movie, Millie Alcock will take on the role of the main superhero character.
What did Jason Momoa say regarding being called Lobo on Supergirl’s set?
According to Entertainment Weekly, Momoa shared that he’s roughly “midway” through shooting his parts for the movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
For the first time, he mentioned during an interview with Jack Black for the upcoming Minecraft film, that everyone should refer to him by his character’s name. Later, addressing Black, he playfully quipped, “Lobo needs to step away for a bathroom break.
Additionally, Momoa remarked, “I truly believe I’m the ideal choice for this role… If we’re going to stereotype me in any way, let’s cast me as Lobo. Bikes, cigar smoking, parties, long dreadlocks.
In addition to Melissa Benoist in the title role, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow features Matthias Schoenaerts portraying Krem from the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Emily Beecham playing Supergirl’s mother.
The film is adapted from a 2021 DC Comics miniseries written by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, sharing the same title.
The introduction for the initial issue of the series presents Kara Zor-El, who has experienced extraordinary adventures throughout her life, yet feels devoid of purpose or significance. Born on a planet that was ultimately destroyed, she was sent to Earth to safeguard a baby cousin who surprisingly didn’t require her protection. Now, she wonders what the point of it all was. As Supergirl, she is constantly overshadowed by Superman’s reputation, leaving her feeling unappreciated and undervalued. However, when life seems too much to bear, everything takes a dramatic turn. An alien girl tracks her down for a lethal mission. Her home world has been obliterated, and the wrongdoers responsible are still at large. This vengeful girl is determined to seek retribution, and if Supergirl refuses to assist, she’ll take matters into her own hands, regardless of the cost. A Kryptonian, a canine companion, and a distraught, angry child now embark on a spacebound voyage that will test their resilience to the limit.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be released on June 26, 2026, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
