Justin Baldoni Sues Former Publicist for Allegedly Leaking Blake Lively Texts

Justin Baldoni and Jennifer Abel recently initiated a lawsuit against their former publicist, Stephanie Jones. They claim that Jones disclosed confidential text messages, which in turn caused the persistent legal disputes between Baldoni and Blake Lively.

What is Justin Baldoni’s newest lawsuit about?

According to Baldoni and Abel, Jones is said to have orchestrated a retaliation scheme aimed at both Baldoni and Abel, following the announcement that they intended to depart from Jonesworks. Previously, Abel held a partnership role with Jones at the PR company and was actively collaborating with Baldoni.

As reported by Baldoni’s legal team, headed by lawyer Bryan Freedman, it is Jones who has been instrumental in triggering the chain of unfortunate events that have culminated in the ongoing legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively.

Without a doubt, Stephanie Jones kicked off this chain of disastrous incidents by infringing on the fundamental privacy rights and any remaining trust that her clients had. As someone familiar with creating turbulent situations when clients leave, Jones intentionally shared communications from the phone she improperly obtained from her own partner to Leslie Sloane, immediately after being fired from Wayfarer for misconduct,” Bryan Freedman, attorney for Baldoni, stated to Variety.

The most recent court complaint, submitted to the federal court in New York on Friday, is part of a series of lawsuits stemming from an ongoing legal dispute. In fact, Jones herself filed a lawsuit towards the end of last year, claiming that Justin Baldoni and Abel were involved in secretly orchestrating a defamatory campaign against Lively.

In 2024, it’s claimed that Baldoni violated their contract according to the statement made by Jones. The contract stated that Baldoni should pay Jones $25,000 monthly. This alleged breach of contract supposedly occurred after Baldoni parted ways with the firm in August and established a new firm alongside Jennifer Abel, who had previously worked at Jonesworks and later started her own company.

In addition to the lawsuit against Baldoni, Jones is also filing a suit against Abel and Baldoni’s publicist Melissa Nathan. This action makes Jones one of those accusing the duo of orchestrating a defamatory campaign against the actress, similar to what Blake Lively has claimed. Jones’ lawsuit states that Baldoni and Abel are trying to shift the blame for this campaign onto her.
