As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that J.J. Abrams is returning with a fresh project, this time collaborating with Max. Just a few days ago, Max unveiled the first official teaser trailer for Abrams’ upcoming ’70s crime thriller series, aptly titled Duster. The series, featuring Josh Holloway in the lead role, is set to premiere its eight gripping episodes this summer.
The show centers around Rachel Hilson’s character Nina, the first Black female FBI agent in 1972, who embarks on a journey to the Southwest where she meets Holloway’s character, a skilled getaway driver. She recruits Jim (Holloway’s character) for a daring mission aimed at dismantling a burgeoning crime organization. In this series, J.J. Abrams collaborates once more with ‘Lost’ actor Holloway, who shares the screen with Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson. The series was initially unveiled in 2021.
1. The trailer begins with a presentation of Holloway and Hilson’s personas. Nina tells Jim, “I was advised not to visit you, that you’re merely a faithful chauffeur.” The first two episodes were penned by Abrams and Morgan, the series creators. Abrams is also one of the executive producers, along with Rachel Rusch Rich. The series debuts on Max on July 3.

Nina tells Jim, “I was told not to drop by, you’re just a dedicated driver.” The initial episodes are written by Abrams and Morgan, who created the series. Abrams is also an executive producer, along with Rachel Rusch Rich. The series will air on Max on July 3.
