Ballerina Trailer: Ana de Armas Kicks Ass in John Wick Spin-off Movie

Lionsgate has released a fresh trailer for their upcoming action thriller film, titled “Ballerina,” that continues the storyline from the John Wick series. This movie is set to premiere in cinemas on June 6, 2025, where it will compete with Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck. Additionally, it shares the same release month as several other high-profile films such as How to Train Your Dragon, Materialists, 28 Years Later, and F1.

The movie unfolds within the context of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, focusing on Eve Macarro, a character embarking on her initiation into the deadly art of assassination as taught by the Ruska Roma.

Who is in the new Ballerina trailer?

As a gaming enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the debut of Ana de Armas‘ character, Eve Macarro, in the electrifying John Wick universe. It seems that this spin-off will see her embarking on a thrilling quest for vengeance. And to make things even more enticing, we’ll have the return of franchise favorites like Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston, Anjelica Huston as The Director, and the late, great Lance Reddick in his final role as Charon. This is shaping up to be an unmissable addition to the John Wick saga!

In the director’s chair for Ballerina is Len Wiseman, with screenplay penned by Shay Hatten. Joining an impressive cast are fresh faces such as Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus. This spin-off is the brainchild of Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Chad Stahelski. The production companies responsible are Thunder Road Films and 87eleven.

The project was initially introduced in 2019, coinciding with the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which introduced us to the Ballerina assassins that were trained by Anjelica Huston’s character within the Ruska Roma syndicate. This same organization is famed for having trained John Wick into the formidable killing machine he is today.
