The Tamil period drama “Sringaram” is preparing for its online debut on an OTT platform. Fans of Aditi Rao Hydari will be able to stream it on the popular streaming service called Thaniththirai.

Enthusiasts of the critically acclaimed film, not just from India but nationwide, have the opportunity to revisit the timeless masterpiece in an updated High Definition (HD) format.

In the story of “Sringaram,” we follow the life of a dancer named Varshini as India prepares for its transition into self-governance, leaving behind British colonial rule.

When Varshini is escorted to a temple to encounter a temple dancer, we’re whisked away to recollections of a young, innocent girl called Madhura who was manipulated and compelled to assume the role of a devadasi – a dancer and servant within temples.

Yet, the hidden aspects of this occupation conceal the hardships where Madhura is unfairly taken advantage of by her landlords, constantly battling within the restrictive system and societal expectations at large.

Or,

The concealed parts of this job reveal the challenges faced by Madhura, who is mistreated by her landlords and must navigate through the oppressive system and norms of society as a whole.

Both options maintain the original meaning while being more natural and easy to read.

As the tale unfolds, it becomes clear that the ongoing struggle for these women destined as devadasis persists. They strive to escape entrenched biases in society and seek a more promising future by fleeing.

In this new production, I’m honored to make my Tamil acting debut alongside Aditi Rao Hydari. The esteemed cast also includes Manoj K Jayan, Sashikumar Subramani, Manju Bhargavi, Aishwarya, Hamsa Moily, Bharat Kalyan, and more talented individuals.

The movie is helmed by Sharada Ramanathan, who also penned the screenplay. It’s a production of Golden Square Films and features music by Lalgudi Jayaraman.
