What happened to Sean Lowe?
Recently, Sean Lowe shared a frightening experience after being attacked twice by his own dog within a span of 12 hours. In an Instagram video, he shared the complete incident while showing his injuries. The Bachelor alum described the experience as “traumatic” and admitted he hesitated before deciding to speak publicly about it.
The first attack happened on March 13, while Lowe was hosting a barbecue at home. His wife, Catherine, and their children were out. He stepped inside to clear the smoke after the fire alarm went off. The sudden noise seemed to startle their rescue dog, Moose, a boxer they had adopted just three months earlier. He said, “I feel him ripping into the flesh of my arm and at this point I’m doing everything I possibly can just to fend this dog off…I know I’m bleeding badly.” Lowe struggled for several minutes to push the dog away and get him outside. However, Moose broke free and attacked again. His friends helped him escape, but his arm was badly injured.

Lowe was rushed to the hospital, where doctors stitched deep wounds in his arm. The next morning, Lowe was still processing about what had happened, when he was attacked again. A strong wind blew open an unlocked door, allowing Moose to escape. The dog immediately charged at him. The Bachelor alum said, “He made a B-line right at me and just lunged and started attacking me again…I honestly just felt like I am fighting for my life here.” Lowe wrestled Moose to the ground, holding him down until emergency responders arrived.
Though devastated, Lowe knew Moose could no longer stay with their family. He also said, “It wasn’t Moose’s fault.” Sitting beside a tearful Catherine, he expressed gratitude that he was the one injured rather than his children.
