Summary
- Monster Hunter Wilds map is largely seamless with only one loading screen during a 9-minute journey.
- One player made the trek on their Seikret, sharing the full experience in a 9-minute video.
- The game continues the successful Monster Hunter franchise evolution with ambitious updates.
One Monster Hunter Wilds player decides to showcase how massive the map actually is by traveling through each biome and discovering a surprising detail in the process. Capcom has another certified hit on its hands as Monster Hunter Wilds has exploded out of the gate, bypassing all sorts of player and sales records for the company.
The news isn’t too surprising considering how popular the Monster Hunter franchise has become with recent, more mainstream-heavy, entries in the series. Monster Hunter Wilds continues the evolution of the franchise, building on parts of the previous games to attempt something even more ambitious with a living and interconnected world for players to explore. In fact, the massive map and each of its biomes has been a focus for one player who wanted to see if it was possible to run through the entire thing in one go.
That player, known as -BrotherPig- on the game’s subReddit posted his findings in a lengthy gameplay video showcasing if it was possible to run through the entire Forbidden Lands map in one go. Starting in Monster Hunter Wilds‘ first area, the Windward Plains, they continued through each diverse biome on the back of their Seikret, through the Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, through to the Iceshard Cliffs and beyond. Surprisingly, the entire journey took over 9 minutes to do, showcasing how interconnected the map actually is.
Monster Hunter Wilds Map Is Largely Seamless
Discovering the entirety of the Monster Hunter Wilds on a Seikret reveals a surprising level of continuity across the vast, intricate landscape. Throughout my journey, I encountered merely one loading screen around the halfway point while transitioning into the Iceshard Cliffs. This seamless experience is quite an achievement by Capcom given the map’s colossal size and complexity.
While Monster Hunter Wilds is a big game in and of itself, its launch isn’t the end of the road. Following the example set by previous games, Monster Hunter Wilds has plenty of post-launch content coming, through larger updates, smaller liver-service-style events, and a likely larger expansion sometime down the road if Worlds and Rise are anything to go by. Based on the early sales figures, Capcom certainly has a large audience to continue feeding more content to.
