Pokemon TCG Pocket update will do away with Trading Tokens in autumn 2025

In 2025 Autumn, the mobile version of the Pokemon TCG Pocket game will undergo a significant overhaul of its trading system. Due to numerous criticisms surrounding the Trader Token currency, the developers have decided to scrap it entirely and instead opt for using a currency that players already possess for trades.

This week, the creators of the Pokemon TCG Pocket game announced an upcoming update to trading on their social media platforms. Although it may still be a while before these changes are implemented, the main change is that Traders Tokens will no longer be used. Instead, Shinydust, which has been utilized as a cosmetic card upgrade currency since the game’s inception, will now take over this role. Players will receive an equivalent amount of Shinydust in exchange for any remaining Traders Tokens once they have been phased out.

We’d like to share an update on Trading in #PokemonTCGPocket.
