Following several rounds of anticipation, Apple TV+ has officially confirmed that “Ted Lasso” will be returning for a fourth season of its celebrated comedy-drama series. Notably, Jason Sudeikis, who won an Emmy for his portrayal, will once again step into the shoes of the adored football coach of AFC Richmond. In the closing moments of Season 3, fans saw Ted departing from the club after the team fell short in their league bid. However, he chose to return home to the United States where he takes on a new coaching role for his son’s soccer team.
As a gamer, I’m super excited about Season 4 of this show, especially since Sudeikis is confirmed to be back! Rumor has it that Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt are in talks to reprise their characters, Keeley Jones and Brendan Hunt respectively. Fingers crossed, ’cause last year I heard that Warner Bros. Television had the rights to bring back Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift if the show gets renewed for another season. Here’s hoping we get more of these fantastic characters!
What did Jason Sudeikis say about the Ted Lasso Season 4 renewal?
Jason Sudeikis has hinted at the anticipated fourth season of Ted Lasso, giving a glimpse into what fans can look forward to. His exceptional portrayal in season 3 earned him nominations for Best Actor from both the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
In a statement, Sudeikis noted that in today’s world, we often find ourselves pausing to assess situations before making a move. However, he added that in Season 4, the characters at AFC Richmond learn to take risks and jump into new experiences. Surprisingly, they realize that no matter where they end up, it’s precisely the right place for them.
Matt Cherniss from Apple TV+ stated, “Ted Lasso has been an absolute powerhouse, sparking a devoted fanbase worldwide, bringing endless amusement and giggles, while promoting kindness, empathy, and unwavering confidence. We’re ecstatic to carry on our partnership with Jason and the creative geniuses behind this series here at Apple.
The show “Ted Lasso” features an American football coach who’s new to British soccer management, despite lacking prior experience. Jason Sudeikis initially played this character in promotional videos for NBC Sports back in 2013. The series was created by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly. It is supervised by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer, with Jack Burditt from “30 Rock” serving as a key contributor.
