IFC Films has unveiled the initial trailer for “The Luckiest Man in America,” offering a sneak peek at the forthcoming drama featuring Paul Walter Hauser as a notorious contestant on the game show, Press Your Luck.

What happens in The Luckiest Man in America trailer?

The trailer for “The Luckiest Man in America” introduces Hauser portraying Michael Larson, a renowned contestant on the game show Press Your Luck, who became famous by spotting patterns within the game and exploiting them to amass $110,237 in prizes – an achievement that held the record for the largest single-day winnings from a game show until 2006.

The movie is set to release on April 4, 2025.

In addition to Hauser, the cast of The Luckiest Man in America includes Walton Goggins, Shamier Anderson, David Strathairn, Maisie Williams, Patti Harrison, Brian Geraghty, Haley Bennett, and Johnny Knoxville. This film is directed by Samir Oliveros, who co-wrote the script with Maggie Briggs.

The movie takes place in May 1984, featuring an out-of-work ice cream truck driver from Ohio (Paul Walter Hauser) who appears on the game show “Press Your Luck.” He’s hiding a significant secret – the key to infinite wealth. However, his winning streak could be jeopardized when the puzzled managers behind the scenes begin to discover his true intentions.
