As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who bring Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” are shedding light on their characters’ relationship.
In a natural and easy-to-understand manner: On March 4, 2025, the first two episodes of Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” were made available on Disney+. This series continues the storyline from the Netflix version of Daredevil, with Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
Ever since the dramatic turn of events portrayed in that Netflix series, life has taken a new course for me as Matt Murdock, the gamer-turned-vigilante known as Daredevil. In this latest chapter titled “Born Again,” Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, pulls off an unexpected move by getting elected as the new mayor of New York City. After the heartbreaking demise of my loyal friend and partner, Foggy Nelson (played by Elden Henson), I’ve decided to hang up the Daredevil suit and step away from the dangerous life that has been mine for so long.
What did Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onfrio say about Fisk and Matt in Daredevil: Born Again?
Regardless, Matt continues to closely monitor Fisk, with Fisk doing the same. On The Official Marvel Podcast, D’Onofrio characterized their bond as being “unbreakably linked in a rather unpleasant fashion.
He added, “I believe there’s a sense in which we depend on each other for survival, yet I prefer if the other weren’t present.
Cox stated, “I often remark that if you deeply admire a sports team, I posed an intriguing query: Would you erase your greatest rival, your mortal enemy, if given the chance? Most likely, people would respond negatively. The essence of who you are is intertwined with their presence. And I believe that’s probably true for Fisk and Daredevil.
In the ensemble of Daredevil: Born Again, we find Margarita Levieva portraying Heather Glenn, Deborah Ann Woll playing Karen Page, Wilson Bethel taking on the role of Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Michael Gandolfini cast as Daniel Blake, Ayelet Zurer starring as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, Kamar de los Reyes as Hector Ayala/White Tiger, and Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle/Punisher.
The first three episodes of Marvel‘s Daredevil: Born Again are now streaming on Disney+.
