Netflix is now working on the second season of “The Perfect Couple,” a self-contained follow-up to the Nicole Kidman-starring mystery-thriller series. For the upcoming season, a fresh ensemble of actors, writers, and producers will take over.
In the second season, Joanna Calo – a co-showrunner from “The Bear” – takes over the writing duties. She’ll also serve as an executive producer alongside Nicole Kidman, Susanne Bier, Gail Berman, Shawn Levy, Per Saari, and Hend Baghdady. Just as with the initial season, this upcoming one will draw inspiration from another novel by popular author Elin Hilderbrand.
What book will The Perfect Couple Season 2 adapt?
In Season 2 of “The Perfect Couple,” the narrative will be drawn from Elin Hilderbrand’s latest release, “Swan Song,” originally published in 2024. Interestingly, this is Hilderbrand’s fourth novel set on the island of Nantucket.
The summary describes the events that unfold when the enigmatic Richardson family purchases a $22 million mansion on Nantucket. They host extravagant gatherings, engage with locals, own two yachts, and instill hope in everyone they encounter. However, when their house catches fire and their most vital employee disappears, the island’s inhabitants are left in shock.
The first season was crafted by showrunner Jenna Lamia, who drew inspiration from Elin Hilderbrand’s book with the same title. Among the main cast members, apart from Kidman, were Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, Ishaan Khatter, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Donna Lynne Champlin, Mia Isaac, and Isabelle Adjani. The series, since its premiere, has earned a Tomatometer rating of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes.
