In the third episode of “Daredevil: Born Again,” titled “The Hidden Imprint,” which aired on Disney+ on March 11, 2025, there’s a hidden clue that seems to hint at Miles Morales, the well-known Spider-Man character, and his universe. Although Miles himself is not expected to make an appearance in the series, this Easter egg suggests that he is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Daredevil: Born Again possibly teases Miles Morales entry in MCU
In Episode 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, Charlie Cox’s character Matt Murdock, acting as Hector Ayala/White Tiger’s lawyer, mentions “Officer Morales” among several officers whom Hector has rescued. This could be a nod to Jefferson Morales, Miles’ father from the Marvel universe, who is often portrayed as a police officer in the Spider-Man movies and video games, despite his traditional role in comics being with SHIELD.
It’s rather unusual given that Easter eggs and references are common elements in franchise productions. Also worth noting is that the character’s last name was Davis in the comics at one point, but it was later changed to his wife’s surname in the canon storyline of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22, which was published in 2021.
2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse doesn’t disclose Jefferson’s complete name. Yet, in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles refers to him as “Officer Morales,” thereby confirming that his last name is indeed Morales.
Based on Brad Winderbaum’s recent confirmation, Sony retains long-term television rights for Spider-Man. Therefore, it’s unlikely that Spider-Man or related characters will show up in Daredevil: Born Again without Sony giving consent. However, an Easter egg in the series could pave the way for Miles Morales to potentially make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.
