The movie Yevade Subramanyam, starring Nani and Vijay Deverakonda, is making a comeback to theaters on March 21. This marks a decade since its initial release. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this heartwarming Telugu coming-of-age drama left a lasting impression on audiences when it first hit the big screen. In anticipation of its re-release, the two actors took some time to reminisce and catch up with each other.

In 2015, the movie “Yevade Subramanyam” made its debut. The plot centers around Subramanyam, an IIM graduate who values material possessions and seeks corporate success. He is engaged to his boss’ daughter, but his life changes when his carefree childhood friend Rishi convinces him to travel to Doodh Kasi.

The movie revolves around Subbu and Anandi as they embark on a profound journey to grant Rishi’s final wish following his untimely demise. This voyage leads them to discard their materialistic perspectives, learn the essence of love, and discover the true purpose in life. After undergoing this transformation, Subbu ends his engagement and renounces an unjustly acquired business. He then proposes a fresh start with Anandi, which serves as the central narrative of the film.

In this movie, Nani takes on the role of Subramanyam “Subbu,” while Malavika Nair plays Anandi “Nandi.” Vijay Deverakonda is cast as Rishi, a friend from Subbu’s childhood, and Ritu Varma portrays Riya. Notable veterans Krishnam Raju and Nassar appear as Ramayya and Pasupathi respectively. On the other side, Rajesh Vivek plays Pemba, their guide, and Sowcar Janaki appears as Susheela.

The movie “Yevade Subramanyam” was crafted by director Nag Ashwin, who also penned the script. It was produced by Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt. Rakesh Erukulla and Naveen Yadav were in charge of the cinematography, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao handled the editing. Radhan composed most of the music for this film, while Ilaiyaraaja contributed one song to it.
