Can’t type fast to save your life? Well, that’s a disadvantage in this new survival horror game!
As a dedicated gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about “Blood Typers,” a unique co-op survival horror game that challenges up to four players. What sets this game apart is its innovative mechanic: To perform actions in the game, you need to type them out. Developed and published by the brilliant minds at Outer Brain Studios, it was launched in February 2025 and can be found on Steam for both Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
The complete version of the game costs either $9.99 or 9,75€, yet there’s a complimentary trial version known as a demo, which you can try before deciding if it appeals to your taste.
A Horrifying Movie Studio
Explore an unpredictable movie studio filled with terrifying entities, and defend yourself by inputting combat commands. The instructions for surviving are only given when you encounter the threats – misstep, and you might not get a second chance to correct it. Don’t fret: whether you’re a slow or fast typist, you can adjust the difficulty level to suit your speed, ensuring that the level of fear is tailored to your comfort.
You and your companions can brainstorm collectively… however, try to stay relatively close as the game incorporates proximity-based VoIP, which means you’ll only be able to hear one another when you’re near enough; if you wander too far apart, there’s a chance you could miss their final exclamations.
In this game, you’ll encounter a limited supply of items, locked doors, and tough decisions – should you pick up ammunition or food? Make your choice carefully. Each level presents a fresh challenge filled with hidden secrets, weapons, and moral dilemmas. Despite its unique gameplay mechanics, Blood Typers delivers an eerie atmosphere reminiscent of classic horror games.
When Your Hands Aren’t Fast Enough
During a zombie attack, when your typing speed falls short. In a trial of typing prowess, LilyPichu and companions demonstrated their skills in the game Blood Typers, which was exhibited as part of the Winter Games Expo’s pre-show.

Reviews
Based on a whopping 95% positive ratings on Steam, it appears that the game Blood Typers has been well-received by its players. Here’s a glimpse into their opinions:
This is literally Typing of the Dead gameplay with the structure of Resident Evil Outbreak, and I’m here for it. I also believe the game should be played with friends, as playing by yourself less fun, especially if you’re experienced in Classic Survival Horror games. I hope there’s more content to come like more scenarios and maybe another character or two. Very solid 8/10 – Noyd Arrington on Steam
Play the demo. No description or video can fully show how well this game works. I never would have expected such an intense and entertaining experience based around typing. I had my doubts but I gave the demo a shot and fell in love! Absolutely thrilling way to practice your typing. – curtpow on Steam
