Lara Croft’s Epic Return: New Tomb Raider Game Leaked!

Since 2018’s Shadow, there hasn’t been a fresh AAA Lara Croft adventure, but Tomb Raider enthusiasts haven’t gone without their fix. They’ve been treated to various crossovers, a Netflix series, and impressive remasters, including the recent launch of titles 4-6. Development on TR12 is underway, and the excitement for the upcoming Tomb Raider game has reignited with leaks hinting at Lara Croft’s comeback.

Leak reveals return of Lara Croft

News has surfaced that Lara Croft will make a comeback; according to ShiinaBR, the beloved archaeologist-adventurer character known for raiding tombs is set to reappear in Fortnite soon. This is exciting news as she’s one of the most popular crossover skins ever featured in the battle royale game.

Furthermore, it’s been disclosed that she’ll have a shiny new Jeep with her, and there are rumors swirling about the inclusion of Tomb Raider artifacts in Rocket League.

To put it simply, while there hasn’t been any leak of the actual skin at the moment of writing, it’s speculated that it could be Lara Croft’s iconic outfit seen in many of her appearances elsewhere, like Magic The Gathering and Call of Duty. The design Crystal Dynamics has shown for TR12 is currently our only glimpse into what this unified outfit might look like.

New Tomb Raider game in-development

At the moment, a brand-new AAA version of Tomb Raider is being crafted. As of now, it’s been confirmed that Crystal Dynamics will lead the project with Unreal Engine 5 as their toolset, and for the first time, Amazon Games will handle its publication.

Furthermore, it’s clear that Tomb Raider 12 follows a single timeline. The Survivor Trilogy serves as the foundation for the story, but events from all other Tomb Raider games have taken place, albeit with certain details being left out or adjusted to align with the Survivor Trilogy as Lara Croft’s origin story. It’s also important to note that Camilla Luddington will not be returning to portray Lara Croft in her role as England’s foremost heroine.

So far, our sole look at TR12 has been a concept art featuring a unified Lara Croft, which Crystal Dynamics shared. Despite it being just an image, it serves as a thrilling sneak peek since it suggests the comeback of dual pistols and gear resembling Lara’s famous tank top and shorts from the classic PlayStation games.

2025 might just be the year when Crystal Dynamics and Amazon officially unveil Tomb Raider 12. Despite years of development, details about this project have been kept under wraps. The lack of recent globe-trotting treasure hunts like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has left us craving for more, making everyone excited to embark on Lara’s next adventure.
