In the final major mission of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, titled Reckoning, events unfold during the Siege of Suchdol. The characters Henry and Samuel are entrusted with delivering an urgent message to Margrave Jobst’s forces, in the hope that they will relieve the siege.
In order to accomplish this, the somewhat-similar duo will scale down the castle ramparts and secure a steed from the enemy camp, but Henry encounters an unexpected hiccup when Samuel veers off on his own, driven by the desire for retribution. While Henry’s primary goal during the “Reckoning quest” in KCD2 involves horse theft and flight, players initially have the option to rescue Samuel and potentially dish out some justice of their own.
Should players aim for swift completion of the quest and are indifferent towards rescuing Samuel, they may proceed directly to the part involving locating a horse.
Obtain A Prague Soldier’s Uniform & Get Into The Camp – Reckoning – KCD2
The most convenient method for wrapping up the Reckoning mission, including any additional tasks, is by acquiring an item from one of the guards on duty.
Once he puts this on, Henry will express that it enables him to roam freely, suggesting he can walk almost anywhere he wants within the camp.
Talking Your Way Into The Camp
Before heading into the camp dressed in his Prague outfit, Henry should initially pay attention to two guards discussing the secret password.
In order to proceed, players must pay attention because the password is different each time they play and also after reloading a saved game.
In the location you’ve pointed out, two guards may be engaged in a conversation, but there are many other suitable spots as well. They could move towards the camp’s southern entrance and converse with the guard stationed there. Regrettably, if Henry has been involved in the bloody incident at Maleshov, this discussion could prove to be highly challenging. A good level of Speech skill might make it easier.
Sneaking Into The Camp
Slipping into the camp, whether you’re wearing a uniform or not, might seem like the more straightforward choice, but there are limited spots for this. The optimal strategy would be to approach from the western side and locate a tiny gap in the wall hidden behind a bush. This spot is situated just south of the main objective marker on your map. You’ll find a smokehouse there.
This location is ideal because it’s close to where Samuel usually hangs out. You can approach it by following the stream from the eastern side.
Where To Find Samuel – Reckoning – KCD2
As players approach the spot where Samuel is located (indicated above), they’ll overhear him being questioned by Vauquelin Brabant. Upon entering the courtyard surrounding that structure, locate and ascend a ladder to reach the upper loft area.
First, players should ready themselves for a preemptive strike against Brabant. Following his defeat, Henry can inquire about Markvart von Aulitz’s condition and location. Next, players will decide whether to show mercy towards Brabant by sparing his life or end it altogether.
If players decide to find von Aulitz first, they should postpone their encounter with Samuel and return later. Alternatively, if they don’t opt for finding von Aulitz, they should grab Samuel and move towards the horses instead.
Where To Find Markvart Von Aulitz – Reckoning – KCD2
When conversing with Brabant, Henry can inquire about the whereabouts of Markvart von Aulitz. This information will be plotted on the map as an additional objective, if chosen. Notably, Markvart resides in the largest house within the village, but the main entry is under watch.
Players seeking revenge will find themselves needing to take an alternate route, which they can do discreetly while wearing the Prague uniform. Beyond the barn, however, Henry will be violating property boundaries, so he’ll either have to take down a few guards or move stealthily past them. It would be advantageous to obtain a key from one of these guards.
Remember to hide bodies so that guards don’t start searching for a culprit.
Players can either use a key or pick the lock to gain entry into the ailing Markvart’s residence. Throughout the conversation options, it becomes clear that Henry must eventually make up his mind about whether to end Markvart’s life or let him live.
Where To Find A Horse & How To Save Samuel – Reckoning – KCD2
The horse stable is located on the western part of the village. However, if you aim to rescue Samuel and bring him along, you’ll need to return to him first. Just go get him, and provided Henry is wearing a Prague uniform, he can deceive the guards by claiming he was sent to bury Samuel.
If players have done everything they want, they can choose a horse, and the mission will end.
