Simone Bellotti Named Creative Director of Jil Sander

Today, it was announced that Simone Bellotti has taken over as the new creative director for fashion label Jil Sander, starting immediately, adding another intriguing twist to the revolving chair of creative directors in the world of fashion. The OTB Group, which owns Jil Sander, made the announcement earlier today.

Previously in January, it was announced that changes would take place following Luke and Lucie Meier’s anticipated departure from the brand, which they confirmed earlier this year at their final Fall/Winter 2025 show for the label in Milan. Bellotti, who is now with Jil Sander, previously held the position of creative director at Bally, taking over from Rhuigi Villaseñor in May 2023.

Renzo Rosso, the head of OTB Group, expressed his thoughts on Simone Bellotti’s new position at Jil Sander: “Simone begins this adventure with a wealth of expertise and an exceptional skillset. Throughout our time working together, we have aligned on the strategic direction and core values for Jil Sander – innovation, sophistication, iconic, and unique brand.”

Bellotti steps into his new role at Jil Sander amidst several transformations within the company. Notably, Serge Brunschwig, who previously held the positions of chairman and CEO at Fendi, was recently appointed as the chief strategy officer for OTB following his departure from the Roman luxury firm last May.

Bellotti boasts an impressive background. Before joining Bally in October 2022 after a 16-year stint at Gucci, he had also held prominent design roles at Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, and Gianfranco Ferré.

I feel deeply privileged to become part of Jil Sander, a legendary brand known for its innovative style and distinct identity that has consistently shaped the fashion industry. I’m thankful to Renzo for his faith in me, and I’m excited to help this esteemed house reach its full capabilities.
