Lokesh Kanagaraj continues to be highly respected as one of the top filmmakers in the South Indian film industry. His exceptional talent for action movies has earned him a devoted fanbase, as these films have consistently been blockbusters. Yet, at one point, Lokesh was eager to cast a specific actor in one of his projects and had even penned an entire script around this idea.
At a previous gathering for the release of his movie titled Leo, director Lokesh Kanagaraj openly shared his ambition to join creative forces with the highly acclaimed Malayalam actor, Fahadh Faasil, renowned for delivering exceptional acting performances.
In a recent disclosure, the director of “Coolie” shared that he penned a script for a police drama titled “Mufti.” This story features Fahadh in the role of a policeman, with the central plot revolving around his ill-fitting uniform. An unexpected chain of events unfolds once this uniform is sent to be tailored over a period of just two hours.
He mentioned that he wrote “Mufti” with Fahadh Faasil in mind as the central character, who is a policeman. The uniform he wears doesn’t fit him properly, so he decides to get it tailored. The events that unfold during those two hours are the heart of the story.
Instead, it appears that the movie project failed to develop fully, and the storyline didn’t transform into the high-octane action film that Lokesh is famous for creating in cinema.
Moving on to the present, the director has prepared to work alongside Tamil legend Rajinikanth for the first time in his upcoming project titled Coolie. This film boasts an impressive lineup of stars from the industry’s upper echelon. With high-octane action scenes that promise to keep you on the edge of your seat, it is anticipated as a crowd-pleaser.
Besides Coolie, there’s also chatter about a potential new venture of his called Benz. This upcoming project is said to be the fourth addition to the Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe (LCU).
Speaking of Fahadh Faasil again, the gifted Malayalam actor recently appeared in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, playing the character Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat once more. In the future, he has a number of intriguing projects on the horizon, including MMMN – a film yet to be titled, starring Mohanlal and Mammootty.
