Over the past weekend at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto, one of the most jaw-dropping events unfolded as John Cena made a surprising shift and became a villain (heel). This transformation earned him a place in the main event of WrestleMania 31, where he will confront Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes for the title in the vibrant city of Las Vegas.
In the arena, Cody Rhodes went into the ring to celebrate with John Cena following his win. Yet, Rhodes had been given a proposal by The Rock several weeks ago – a chance to serve as The Rock’s personal titan and swear allegiance to The Final Boss.
Standing in the ring, Cody Rhodes found himself confronted by both The Rock and Travis Scott. Eager for Rhodes’ decision, The Rock was taken aback when Rhodes declined the offer instead. Initially, it seemed as if John Cena supported Rhodes’ choice, even going so far as to embrace him. However, upon receiving a signal from The Final Boss, Cena’s stance shifted.
Among the most jaw-dropping instances in WWE history, John Cena took fans by surprise when he delivered a sneaky low blow to Cody Rhodes, marking his first heel turn in two decades. Joining forces with The Rock, Cena’s actions sent tremors through the wrestling universe.

Even as WWE stars express their reactions to John Cena’s surprising shift in allegiances, his father, John Cena Sr., is growing tired of repeated queries regarding his son’s choice to team up with Dwayne “The Rock.
John Cena Sr. says he’s had enough of his son’s heel turn questions
During an interview with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge hosted by Bill Apter, John Cena Sr. grew frustrated when questioned about his son’s heel turn. He requested that people allow the narrative to develop organically without interrupting it with queries or comments.
He expressed, “I’ve had enough of people like you. I’m fed up with the repeated phone calls I’ve been receiving. You need to address that issue with someone else. Frankly, I’ve had enough. Why don’t we just let things unfold and see what happens? After all, a reporter is a reporter. But listen, Bill Apter, ‘friendship’ has reached its limit, and thank you. I won’t disclose what Cody Rhodes said to you, but I will say have a good day and thanks for nothing.
Senior John Cena isn’t quite ready to step out of character yet. His response suggests he might be playing along with his son’s surprising villainous transformation, the heel turn. Meanwhile, we haven’t caught a glimpse of Junior John Cena since his major betrayal. However, he is set to return on the March 17th episode of WWE RAW, an event that promises intrigue as we’ll hear his thoughts on his recent actions for the first time since turning heel.
