SAS: Rogue Heroes Season 3 likely to happen
In an exciting chat on Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast, I got some fantastic news straight from the horse’s mouth – or should I say, Steven Knight’s mouth! He’s the genius behind SAS: Rogue Heroes, and he confirmed that a third season is on its way. Now, if you remember what he said, “We can’t leave it there. We can’t leave it there. No, no, we will. There’s more to come.” I couldn’t contain my excitement when he added, “You wait ‘til [Season] 3. Oh my god,” while discussing the intriguing character arc of Jack O’Connell’s Paddy Mayne. Can’t wait for what Season 3 has in store!
Despite no formal announcement being released yet, comments from Knight suggest that a Season 3 is already in development for SAS: Rogue Heroes. This series narrates the creation of the Special Air Service (SAS) during World War II. The first season delved into the North African campaign, whereas Season 2, premiered in January 2025, centered on events unfolding in the European theater.
The knight’s belief in the series’ prolongation was evident in his remarks. He further suggested that Rogue Heroes might mirror Peaky Blinders’ progression, growing its fan base gradually over time. Regarding the show’s future, Knight mentioned, “Our goal is to carry it through to the end of the conflict and a little past that point.
Season 2 concluded with a crucial scene referencing the D-Day invasions, hinting that this historic event could play a significant role in the upcoming season. As the series has developed up to this point and Knight’s statements about its future indicate, the SAS narrative will likely delve into the next stage of the war.
It’s quite likely that we’ll have more seasons than just Season 3, considering Knight’s creative direction and the backing from BBC.
