In Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s an abundance of resources to manage. Players have multiple options to gather materials and can often refer to their field guide for the necessary items. Yet, before a player knows what a monster drops, they must first defeat it at least once.
As a gamer, I’ll kick off my adventure in the expansive Windward Plains of this game. From there, I’ll journey into the ominous Scarlet Forest. Lastly, I’ll wind up in the Oilwell Basin, a place where I can start gathering those Fossilized Fire Opals. These precious gems can be found even when I’m still in Low Rank, so I better get hunting!
How to Find Fossilized Fire Opal in Monster Hunter Wilds
Adventurers can begin collecting the item called Fossilized Opal right from the beginning of their expedition, as it’s available in various spots scattered across the Windward Plains region. To obtain these hidden treasures, players should interact with the Exquisite Fossils marked on the map. The most efficient way to reach these materials is by first mounting up, then consulting the map and marking the location of the Exquisite Fossil. This action will prompt your mount to automatically select the quickest route to that destination.
After passing the Scarlet Forest and reaching Oilwell Basin, gamers will discover additional spots containing Exquisite Fossils. Notably, these locations might yield Fossilized Fire Opals, which are less common on the map. To locate them, it’s advisable to consult the game map and navigate to the Resources tab. Scroll down this tab until you spot the Exquisite Fossil icon. Moving either left or right from this icon will guide players towards the resource’s location on the map. Once found, they can mark it so their mount will take them directly to the site.
Should players fail to gather the Precious Fire Opal, they have the option to quickly move to a different location and return to Oilwell Basin later. This action will trigger a reset of all resource timers in Oilwell Basin.
