Instead of creating games derived from existing franchises, Dotemu and their partners are now focusing on an entirely unique project – a fresh game named Absolum, which will be developed by Dotemu, Guard Crush, and Supamonks and is scheduled for release this year.
Today, the preview trailer for Absolum was unveiled, offering us our initial glimpse into the realm of Talamh. Dotemu characterizes the gameplay as a fusion of beat ’em up combat and roguelike elements, and by the end of the trailer, we get a sense of what they’re referring to. In different 2D settings, players are shown engaging in fierce battles with mythical creatures.
In the game Absolum, you can play solo, or team up with others locally or online. A portion of the trailer showcases two players mounted on raptor-like creatures, side by side. This represents a new partnership between Dotemu and Guard Crush, who have previously collaborated on Streets of Rage 4.
Absolum doesn’t have a specific launch date yet, but it’s expected to come out by the closing of 2025. Keep checking back here at Shacknews for any new information as we eagerly wait for further details.
