Steam Deck gamers can soon play one of 2025’s most anticipated releases

Monster Hunter Wilds has set a new record as Capcom’s best-selling game ever, but regrettably, it can’t run smoothly on the Steam Deck. Although it’s disappointing that Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t playable on Valve’s handheld device, there’s some exciting news: One of the most anticipated games of 2025, which is set to be released soon, has been officially verified for the Steam Deck!

Hazelight Studios’ Split Fiction is Steam Deck verified

2025 is eagerly awaiting the release of Split Fiction, a highly anticipated game. The reason for this excitement lies in the fact that it’s being developed by none other than acclaimed director Josef Fares, under the wing of Hazelight Studios. This team has previously wowed us with their exceptional work on A Way Out and It Takes Two, which was named Game of the Year in 2021.

Although some gamers might have been frustrated with Monster Hunter Wilds’ performance on Valve’s handheld device, there’s positive news: Split Fiction has been officially verified for Steam Deck. In addition, Hazelight confirmed that, similar to It Takes Two, Split Fiction won’t need the EA app to run. This means players can enjoy the game solely through the Steam Client.

If you’d like to connect with friends playing on other platforms (like Xbox or PlayStation) via crossplay, you’ll need to have a free EA account in addition to Steam.
