The actor currently known for Meiyazhagan is involved in the production of Sardar 2, which is the follow-up to the 2022 film Sardar, helmed by PS Mithran.
According to the most recent news, it appears that Karthi suffered a leg injury during filming in Mysore for the action-thriller. As the star of Ponniyin Selvan, he was apparently capturing a crucial scene when the accident took place.
Based on the news, Karthi was swiftly transported to a local hospital, where a group of physicians assessed his wound. Thankfully, it seems to be minor, as medical professionals have recommended that he take a week off to recover.
Based on health recommendations, the creators of Sardar 2 have elected to momentarily pause production. It appears that the cast and team members have gone back to Chennai for now, with filming resuming only after actor Karthi has made a full recovery.
The second movie in the series, titled “Sardar 2,” is anticipated to be a thrilling spy action film starring Karthi as the main character. Just like the original, he will take on two roles within this sequel. Rajisha Vijayan is likely to reappear in her previous role, and the film features an impressive lineup of actors such as SJ Suryah, Babu Antony, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, along with others.
In the initial movie titled “Sardar,” we delve into the tale of a former spy disgraced by his actions, who emerges from exile to thwart a scheme that threatens to poison the nation’s water sources. On the other hand, the upcoming sequel, “Sardar 2,” will shift its focus towards drug trafficking and seeks to educate viewers about the devastating effects it has on young people and the broader society.
The movie is being financed by S. Lakshman Kumar and Siddharth Srinivas under the production company Prince Pictures. George C. Williams oversees the filming, while Vijay Velukutty manages the editing process. Yuvan Shankar Raja creates the music for the movie. The anticipated release date for Sardar 2 is later this year on the big screen.
In addition to Sardar 2, Karthi is set to appear in the upcoming action-comedy Vaa Vaathiyaar, helmed by Nalan Kumarasamy. This film, boasting stars like Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, and others, was originally slated for release in January this year but had to be delayed due to unforeseen events.
Following Vaa Vaathiyaar, it’s clear that Karthi will once again team up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2019 movie Kaithi, known as Kaithi 2. This film is slated to be Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next production following the Rajinikanth-led Coolie and will function as the fifth part of the esteemed Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
