During the 2021-2025 tenure as U.S. Vice President and being the Democratic candidate in the 2024 U.S. election, Harris spent the Oscars at home with her husband Doug Emhoff. Emhoff posted a photo on Instagram Stories showing his wife preparing for their Oscar party by pouring Doritos from a bag into a bowl. The caption read, “Oscar watch party prep.
Significantly, Kamala Harris hails from California. Born in Oakland, she served as the District Attorney of San Francisco’s 27th district from 2002 to 2011. Following this, she held the position of Attorney General of California from 2010 until 2017. In 2017, Harris was elected as a US Senator from California and served in that role until 2021. She was among the candidates vying for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, which eventually went to then-US Vice President Joe Biden. After Biden clinched the nomination, he chose Harris as his running mate.
In 2024, as previously stated, Kamala Harris was the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. However, she faced defeat by her opponent from the Republican Party, Donald Trump.
On Sunday earlier today, various sources sparked discussions about the potential attendance of Harris at the Oscars. Deadline mentioned an increased level of security for this year’s Oscars compared to previous years.
