In preparation for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 this autumn, Rockstar Games has strengthened its creative team by acquiring Video Games Deluxe. This Australian studio will now be known as Rockstar Australia and will contribute to the development of future games produced by the studio.
This morning, Rockstar officially took over Video Games Deluxe, an Australian game studio founded by Brendan McNamara. McNamara’s previous studio, Team Bondi, collaborated with Rockstar Games to create L.A. Noire. Back in 2017, Video Games Deluxe contributed to the remake of that same game. The team has also been involved in the development of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
As someone who’s passionate about gaming and has been part of this industry for quite some time, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement! Video Games Deluxe is now officially part of our family at Rockstar Australia. This collaboration promises an even more thrilling journey ahead as we create unforgettable experiences together.
Rockstar Games hasn’t disclosed the specific projects that Rockstar Australia will be handling, but there’s great anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6, slated to release this fall. For updates regarding Rockstar Games and their affiliates, stay tuned with Shacknews.
