Capcom is currently looking into a significant problem within the game Monster Hunter Rise (Monster Hunter Wilds) that might prevent players from advancing in its narrative. Specifically, the Monster Hunter Status account on social media platform X has shared that there’s a glitch where an important character (NPC) may fail to appear when interacted with to move forward in the story. This issue was encountered during Chapter 5-2: A World Turned Upside Down.
The company is aware of the problem and working on a solution, but they haven’t given an estimated timeframe for when the issue will be resolved.
In the Monster Hunter world, we’re looking into a problem that some players might be experiencing,” the Monster Hunter Status account announced on X. “Sometimes, an NPC fails to appear, which can halt the progress of the Main Mission in Chapter 5-2: A World Turned Upside Down. Rest assured, our team is working diligently on this issue and will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
For further insight, chapter 5 in “Monster Hunter Wilds” unfolds during the latter stages of the game. The primary narrative is concentrated in the initial four chapters, while chapters 5 and beyond escalate the player’s rank as a Hunter and introduce encounters with advanced monsters known as High Rank beasts.
Ever since its launch, the PC version of “Monster Hunter Worlds” has encountered technical difficulties as well. The developer, Capcom, has acknowledged these problems and suggested several possible remedies for players such as updating graphics card drivers or disabling any compatibility modes to help resolve the issues.
Regardless of any challenges, Monster Hunter Wilds has gained immense popularity. In fact, on its debut day, the number of players simultaneously using the PC version surpassed 1 million. Furthermore, the record for the most concurrent players in the game was set at 1,384,608 over the weekend.
In the meantime, while Capcom is addressing these problems, they’ve also announced that the first significant upgrade for the game, affectionately named Title Update 1, will drop in early April. This update promises to introduce a new monster into the game – Mizutsune – alongside other additions, such as a social space called Gathering Hub for multiplayer interactions.
Mizutsune, a monster, initially appeared as one of the four cover monsters exclusively for the 3DS game “Monster Hunter Generations”. It was absent from “Monster Hunter World”, but it reappeared in “Monster Hunter Rise”. Given that it’s a post-release creature in Wilds, Mizutsune is expected to be a tougher opponent compared to the monsters encountered so far in the game’s main story.
Approaching the debut of “Monster Hunter Wilds“, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto discussed why the team hasn’t updated or rebuilt any of the older mainline games in the franchise. In an interview, Tsujimoto explained that these earlier titles were created with the technical constraints of console hardware and Internet infrastructure of their era in mind. Essentially, to run them on contemporary platforms would necessitate starting from scratch and rebuilding them.
