According to an interview with the Daily Mail, Leslie Ann Hackman stated that her father, aged 95, remains in excellent physical shape due to regular practice of Pilates and Yoga multiple times per week.

Based on information from an application for a search warrant (reported by Variety), Detective Roy Arndt expressed to a judge that the unusual circumstances surrounding the deceased couple’s death appear suspicious enough to necessitate a comprehensive search and examination.

In particular, Arndt observed the location of the incident when the police arrived. Arakawa was found to be on the bathroom floor. An open prescription bottle for pills was visible on the countertop, with some pills scattered nearby. Hackman was allegedly discovered in the couple’s mud room, close to the kitchen, with his sunglasses by his side.

As the detective suggested, it seems like both individuals had an unfortunate incident resulting in them ending up on the ground. In the bathroom closet near Arakawa’s body, a lifeless dog was discovered, while two apparently healthy canines remained on the property. Despite this, the couple’s front door was left ajar, with no evidence of forced entry.

Initially, it seemed a gas leak might have been responsible for the fatalities. However, upon investigation by the fire department and gas company, no such issues were found in the property. Arndt mentioned that there were “no clear indications of a gas leak.

Additionally, Arndt pointed out that there was uncertainty surrounding the exact timing of both Hackman and Arakawa’s demise. As mentioned by the investigator, a space heater was discovered near Arakawa’s head, which might have inadvertently fallen during the female’s sudden collapse, according to his account.

According to the affidavit, Arndt believes that the circumstances leading up to the deaths of the two people are suspicious enough to warrant a comprehensive search and examination. The search warrant, approved by the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court on Wednesday evening, signals that further details may emerge as the ongoing investigation unfolds.
