Last week was a significant one for the Pokemon team, encompassing their digital card game and battling platform, Pokemon TCG Pocket. The Pokemon Company recently disclosed that since its debut, TCG Pocket has surpassed 100 million downloads. This announcement precedes the arrival of its upcoming expansion, Triumphant Light, which was introduced to the game today.
100 million downloads for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket app were celebrated through their official social media platforms, coinciding with Pokémon Day.
What a terrific method to honor #PokemonDay today! A big thank you to all of you for your ongoing support; it truly means a lot. 🙏
We’re excited to celebrate this community and future achievements in the coming year. Wishing you continued enjoyment of our game!

Launched only a few months back in October 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket has rapidly gained immense global recognition. In fact, it surpassed 10 million downloads just three months ago. The rapid increase to 90 million users since then is testament to the game’s infectious appeal and strong community bonding, a factor we highlighted in our Shacknews review even as we praised the game.
Keep an eye out for further developments on the Pokemon TCG Pocket, as it continues to grow and new information was unveiled during the Pokemon Presents February 2025 presentation. Stay updated with us here at Shacknews!
